Residents of Shamage, a community in the Nasarawa Local Government of Nasarawa State are finding it difficult to access healthcare as the only Primary Health Care in their area has since collapsed.
Tracka, a public accountability organization that exposed the terrible nature of the hospital said it lacks equipment, personnel and needs urgent renovation.
A health worker that was found at the hospital while narrating the challenges they go through said the clinic is grossly underfunded while pointing out they had lost many lives while rushing critically ill patients to Keffi or Nasarawa town.
Worse still, the Nasarawa State government in the last 10 years has expended millions of Naira on health.
A huge sum that is yet to reflect in the improvement of healthcare in the state.
