Ogun School in deplorable condition as N12 million project remains abandoned

Ogun community children continue to learn in a deplorable condition as N12 million classroom construction project remains abandoned.

This is even as the Federal Government under the 2021 Zonal Intervention Project (ZIP) approved the sum of N12 million for the construction of a three classroom block at LGA Primary School, Egan-Moro, Oke-Agbo, Ijebu Igbo, Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Tracka, a public accountability organization that visited the community to inspect the project, says despite the N12 million Federal Government approved for the project, nothing has been done, and, the children continue to learn under a deplorable condition.

Worse still, over 70 pupils are learning under a deplorable environment with the school having licking roofs, fallen walls, and grasses overgrew the environment.

Egan-Moro, Oke Primary School is an exception, across communities in Nigeria, there is a huge number of children learning under deplorable conditions with all structures completely collapsed.

And, this is even as both state and federal governments continue to lay claims to have spent huge amounts of money annually on education.
