The Kogi state secretariat has continued to remain unfixed despite the sum of N100 million that has been allocated to fixing it, MAWA Foundation has learned.
Under the deal, the state government in 2017 allocated the sum of N50 million for fixing of the secretariat fence. And, despite the allocation, nothing was done regarding the project.
However, in 2018, the state government allocated another sum of N50 million into the same project.
The money that equals N100 million that was allocated through the office of the Director of Building for the state Ministry of Works, Housing and Urban Development, is yet to reflect in the fixing of the secretariat fence.
Although the money has since been released, the secretariat located at Zone 8, Lokoja, the Kogi state capital that houses different ministries such as Head of Service, Office of the Accountant General, Ministry of Judiciary, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, and many others is yet to have its fence fixed.
Worse still, Mr. Ocheni Jubrin, a senior official in the Office of Director, disclosed that deposited the release of N100 million, nothing has been done regarding the secretariat fence because no fund has been released for the project.
