Anambra lawmaker has constructed two classrooms for the sum of N15 million as a constituency project. Mr. Sam Onwuaso, a federal lawmaker, representing the people of Awka North in the House of Representatives, nominated the construction of four classrooms block at Ikwodiaku primary school as part of his constituency project.
In 2020, the sum of N15 million was allocated for the project. Part of the deal according to the lawmaker is the construction and furnishing of four classrooms block with an extra toilet in Ikwodiaku primary school Awka North and south federal constituency of Anambra State.
The contract for the project had Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute as a supervising agency.
Worse still, despite the allocation of funds for the project, only a single block with two classrooms was built and no furniture and toilet from the initial plan was built.
Tracka, a public accountability organization that visited the project told MAWA Foundation that only a single block of two classrooms was built.
MAWA Foundation could not immediately reach out to the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute and Onwuaso
