The Akwa Ibom state Fire Service Station remains abandoned despite the sum of N60 million allocated for its renovation by the state government.
The state government had in the year 2015 and 2017 allocated the sum of N60 million for the renovation of Fire Service station that is located at Abak area of the state.
Worse still, Udeme, a public accountability organization that visited Abak to evaluate the level of work done, said no renovation was carried out.
The organization said the only
two fire trucks at the station are not in good working condition and cannot be used for any operation.
