The poor state of Primary Healthcare Centre at Toronke community in Mashi Local Government Area of Katsina state makes one weep.
At the Toronke Community Primary Healthcare centre in Katsina state, patients are treated under the tree while drugs are kept in abandoned toilets.
Follow the money, a public accountability organization that was in the community and has helped expose the poor nature of the hospital has since appealed to Mr. Bello Masari, the Katsina state Governor to help provide health facilities in the community while pointing out that the situation is a death trap.
They, however, disclosed that health workers treat patients under a tree which serves as a hospital in the community.
Worse still, Katsina state approved the sum of N286.6 billion for the 2021 budget. And, in the total sum, the state set aside the sum of N196.1 billion representing 70 percent for capital expenditure.
In the same state, the sum of N244.8 billion was approved by the state in the 2020 budget.
