Kids in Jandeikyula community of Taraba State are learning under deplorable conditions, taking classes under the tree as the government under the supervision of Mr. Darius Ishaku, the state Governor has refused to provide quality education to the state.
Life Foundation Academy located at the Jandeikyula community in Assa District, Chonku ward, Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba state with a population of over 269,031 has a huge shortage of infrastructural decay that requires urgent government intervention.
Taraba State under Mr. Ishaku, the Governor has a well-known reputation for neglecting education, with the decayed and dilapidated schools that are found in many communities across the state being a confirmation of this trend.
For instance, children in Tsakuwa community primary school located in Lau local government area of the state learn in a dilapidated condition, with pupils sitting in a small tattered thatch small hot as a classroom.
This is the situation in Taraba State even as the government of Mr. Ishaku in two years approved N3.435 billion for education.
The Taraba state government in the year 2018 approved N1, 649,274,074.00 for its universal basic education board, also in the year 2019 same basic education board got N1, 786,713,570.69 approval from the state budget, making a total of N3, 435,987,644 approval for primary education in two years.
Worse still, despite the huge amount the Taraba state government claims to have expended on education, children in communities across the state continue to learn in terribly dilapidated conditions.
Mr. Ephraim Magaji, who lives close to Federal University Wukari in Taraba State along Katsina Ala-Road, who spoke to MAWA Foundation, recounted how Taraba State has since refused to fund education, pointing out how a good number of public schools in the state have become deplorable as a result of government refusal to put money in education.
Tracka, a public accountability organization that exposed the school, has since appealed to Mr. Ishaku, the state Governor to fix it.
