Kaida, FCT-Abuja has no road, safe drinking water

Kaida community located about 11 kilomentres away from Gwagwalada Area Council of Federal Capital Territory Abuja has no road and safe drinking water. The community which has an estimated 1,000 population drinks from a dirty river and has no access road.

The residents who are mainly rural farmers in different narratives recounted how access to water and road have continued to be a major challenge for them.

Kaida community residents have continued to lack access to safe drinking water and access roads even as the (FCT-Authority) last year had N1.15 trillion. This is even as Mr. Nyesom Wike the FCT Minister during the budget defence affirmed that the budget was solely to facilitate development in the rural communities of FCT and ensure community transformation.

It is unclear how lack of access to safe drinking water and access roads continue to be a challenge in communities across FCT.  However, Nigerians must realize that one major effective way to get an improved society that prioritizes development and citizens’ welfare is when citizens become active and make consistent accountability demands on the government and the leaders.
