Kogi Geregu School — Where Hope Meets Broken Walls

Kogi Geregu School — Where Hope Meets Broken Walls

Every day, kids walk through these cracked walls and missing roofs—not because the school is abandoned, but because their dreams won’t wait.

Imagine sitting in a classroom with no roof over your head, bare floors under your feet, and no science lab in sight. This is reality for students here in Geregu, Ajaokuta LGA, Kogi State. MonitNG, a public accountability organisation has exposed

For years, billions have been allocated for education in Kogi. Yet, schools like this get left behind—while some leaders send their own children abroad to learn. How do we tell the young boy here who wants to be an engineer that his dream is less important?

These aren’t just empty buildings. They are children’s futures—kids sharing torn textbooks, studying under the open sky, facing sun and rain just to learn.

This is a call to action:

No child should have to learn like this. Their dreams deserve a safe space and real support.

Because every child matters. Every dream matters.
