Mr. Foster Ogola, a Bayelsa Senator has abandoned his N53 million dialysis centre, and under the deal, the lawmaker nominated the construction of the dialysis centre at the Ekeremor town in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa.
In the deal, Ogola nominated the project in 2016 for N25 million, although MAWA learned the money was released, the project remained uncompleted.
However, Ogola in 2017 nominated the same project in the sum of N28 million, making it a sum of N53 million.
Despite the sum of N53 million that has since been allocated to the project, the Ekeremor dialysis centre has since been abandoned with grasses taken over the entire centre.
The lawmaker MAWA learned struck the deal using the National primary health development agency to nominate the project.
Mr. Ilevbaoje Uadamen, Head Tracka, told MAWA, their team was at the community to inspect the project and found it has since been abandoned.
Worse still Uadamen told, MAWA, only outside of the centre is painted while inside is left unpainted with no equipment found inside.
When MAWA sought the explanation of the National primary health development agency, it declined to comment.
MAWA could not immediately reach out to Ogola for a response.
