Mr. Rochas Okorocha, a former Imo State Governor and the current federal lawmaker in the Senate has constructed 20 stalls for the sum of N8.8 million as a constituency project.
Okorocha had nominated the construction of two blocks of 40 K-clamp open stalls at Nkwo Onyeukwu market Abajah in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo state as part of his constituency project.
In 2020, the federal government of Nigeria allocated the sum of N8.8m to the project as a Zonal Intervention Project.
The project awarded to Ekpofe Integrated Service Limited and supervised by the Federal Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment was half done while the remaining money is yet to be accounted for.
Tracka, a public accountability organization that visited the project said only 20 stalls were built as against 40 that got allocation from the federal government.
