Shocking: COVID-19, NCDC says it spent N21.5 Million on office computer

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) an agency at the centre of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria has said it expended the sum of 21,500,000.00 for the purchase of office computers.

NCDC says the 50 Laptop Computers were purchased for its Administrative Head Quarters in Jabi, Abuja-Nigerian capital city.

A breakdown of the figure shows the NCDC spent the sum of 430,000 on each of the computers.

This is even as NCDC did not disclose the quality of the computers it purchased, leaving many in doubt in trying to ascertain value for money.

The procurement contract was awarded to a local company, Inkiya Nigeria Limited.  A project NCDC said was implemented under the COVID – 19 intervention fund.

MAWA Foundation online check shows Inkiya Nigeria Limited is located at No 142 Kobi Street Bauchi.

The Nigeria Open Contracting Portal (NOCOPO) published the contract sum on its website
