The N50 million Kebbi State irrigation project has been abandoned, MAWA Foundation has learned.
The sum of N50 million was allocated to the project in the 2020 budget as a Zonal Intervention Project, popularly known as a constituency project.
The project nominated by Mr. Yahaya Abdullahi, a Senator from Kebbi State was for the rehabilitation of irrigation scheme at Yeldu community for vegetable farming in Kebbi North Senatorial District, of the State.
The project awarded to Zoarium International Limited is been supervised by the Border Development Community Agency.
Worse still, Tracka, a public accountability organization team who visited the project site, says only a solar power Borehole was constructed while the irrigation project has since been abandoned.
MAWA Foundation could not immediately reach out to Abdullahi for a response.
