The Gombe lawmaker and UBEC in an act that appears to be a corrupt practice have built a two classrooms block at the price of N18 million.
Mr. Karu Elisha, a federal lawmaker at the House of Representatives carried out the project as part of his constituency project at Jongori Baule Tula Primary School at Kaltungo Local Government Area of Gombe state.
The federal government last year allocated the sum of N18 million for the project.
The contract that was supervised by Department of Physical Planning UBEC and was awarded to Mind Toit Nigeria Limited is said to have an office space and furniture.
Tracka, a public accountability organisation that visited the project site said it has been completed and put to use.
Checks by MAWA Foundation show that amount is enough to build 12 blocks of classrooms, hire teachers and pay their salaries for a year.
Worse still, the money was used to build only two classrooms block, an example of act that has helped undermined Nigerians ability to provide better education and other rural facilities.
