Ngwa Road in Aba, Abia State is now in a terrible condition and no longer accessible as commuters are seen battling to use the route with lots of difficulties.
This is even as the state in the last decade has budgeted and expended huge sums of money on capital projects. Amounts that are yet to reflect on meaningful infrastructural improvement.
For instance, in 2021, Mr. Okezie Ikpeazu, the Abia state governor, signed N131.852 billion appropriation into law. And, in the signed budget, N69 billion was set aside for capital expenditure and N62.8 billion for recurrent expenditure.
Good as it appears, Abia state continues to witness huge and embarrassing infrastructural decay with the residents bearing the consequences.
Residents in the state continue to lament the infrastructural decay across communities, and continually appeal to the government to help provide infrastructure, a demand that has not been met.
Tracka, a public accountability organization that exposed the terrible nature of the road, has since appealed to the Abai State government to help fix it for the residents and commuters to have a better and improved life.
