Water Resources Ministry allegedly abandons N13.5 million borehole

The Federal Ministry of Water Resources has allegedly abandoned N13.5 million borehole project at Ifako Okoyoung community of Cross Rivers State.

Under the deal, the ministry collaborates with the Cross Rivers Basin Development Authority Calabar as the supervising agency.

In the deal, the Nigerian Government in 2021, allocated the sum of N13.5 million for the provision water supply scheme at Ifako Okoyoung Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The contract was awarded to Fluid Reservoir Services.

Tracka, a public accountability organization that was at the project site to inspect the project, says the contractor has since abandoned it.

MAWA-Foundation could not immediately reach out to the Federal Ministry of Water Resources for an official response.
